Who is Sunetra Sarker?
Sunetra Sarker's family originally come from Kolkata in India, but she was born in the West Derby area of Liverpool.She gained a degree in Business and French from Brunel University.
Sunetra Sarker went on to act in numerous plays and radio and TV dramas. Her notable credits include playing Nisha Batra in Brookside from 1988 to 1990, and then from 2000 to 2003; Anji Mittel in No Angels from 2004 to 2006; and Dr Zoe Hanna in Casualty, which she joined the cast of in 2007.
She is a supporter of the charity Sightsavers and went to Kolkata on their behalf.
In 2014, she was paired with Brendan Cole on Strictly Come Dancing. They were the ninth couple to be voted off.
In May 2016, she left Casualty.
Subsequent credits included Death in Paradise, Broadchurch and a Channel Four drama The ABC.
In 2017, Sunetra Sarker was featured on Who Do You Think You Are?
In September 2017, Whats on TV reported that Sunetra Sarker was returning to Casualty as Zoe Hanna.
