Thom Evans was born in Zimbabwe on 2 April 1985.

His father, Brian Evans, was a professional golfer, his mother, Sally Evans, was the 100M provincial champion for Durban Province, whilst his brother Max Evans, like Thom, played rugby.

Thom Evans had played rugby for England U16, U18 and U21 teams but chose to represent Scotland and gained his first International cap in June 2008.

On a club level Thom Evans played rugby for London Wasps and then Glasgow Warriors, but he suffered a very bad injury in February 2010, which led to his retirement from rugby at the age of 24.

In 2010 he started dating Kelly Brook, but they broke up early in 2013.

In 2014 he was paired with Iveta Lukosiute on Strictly Come Dancing.

They were unlucky to be the fourth couple voted off after they came up against Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff in the dance off and although the judges' vote was 2-2, Thom and Iveta had to leave Strictly because Len had the casting vote.

In 2019, he appeared alongside Ben Foden and Levi Davis in a band called Try Star on X Factor: Celebrity.
